After I left Grant's Farm there was a severe storm with 60 mph winds and hail. I worried about the bald eagles who are tied to their perch. Why are they doing this?

The eagles are not tied to the perch. They are injured from the bird sanctuary and would be moved if in harms way

Jason Stack I was out in it and yes it was that way and I was just outside Grant's Farm. Hail on Grant's trail, large trees uprooted at the trail and 21, wires down at 21 and Reavis rd., branches all over Grant's Trail. This went on for at least an hour. I was in it taking shelter that long. There were also wires down at the Trail and Gravois.

60 mph winds?? I live down the street from there and never saw that. I'm sure they do everything necessary to protect the animals

I am sure the staff at Grant's Farm make sure that none of the animals are in danger during storms. St. Louis weather, especially during the hotter temperatures often has sudden and severe storms, such as the one you encountered today. The staff at Grant's Farm do their utmost to ensure all the creatures safety.

They're not out there all day
