I would think it would be too cold for most Palms in the foothills. Well-drained soil is great but the folks Southern Scapes are the experts just give them a buzz
Hi! The best soil for palms would definitely be a well-drained soil, with a balanced pH. The temperature will be a concern for many palm varieties. With the right balance of care, fertilization, maintenance, and winter protection - you can work towards successful growth of palms. The most cold tolerant palms we carry include Needle Palms, Windmill Palms, and European Fan Palms.
