I had previously asked about a letter to have the titles changed from my deceased husband to my name. We (he) did not have a will. I have registrations, his driver's license and the death certificate. How to I proceed now.

Hi KW, Firstly, I think you may need an Elder Law Attorney. Andora and Romano in Paramus is excellent. Secondly, you must be appointed the Executrix of your husband's estate...and only the Bergen County Surrogates Court can do that. You should go there asap, even if it means taking some time off of work. In my opinion, the above two (2) tasks should be done, before anything else is done. I hope this helps. Good luck, G.T.

Sign the back of the titles and make sure you put a date saying when you bought the car the mileage and everything. After that take to the dmv. I had to do the same thing this past October when my father past away
