Do not approach Call Animal Control Immediately I live in the city's outskirt people are allowed to keep pit bull's which are well known to attack going straight for a person's throat just like they go for other animal's throat's. Pit bulls are trained to fight mostly and even if they are raised with love and attention you will not know when they will turn on you. They are meant to be raised in the country with a place, land to have fenced in running room. It's cruelty to my opinion to leave any animal on a chain for more than a hour with a runner not in one spot. They feel unloved get very little attention and no a dog house that's mostly home made no heat in the winter and nothing to keep them cool in the summer heat. They talk about it being against the law to leave animals in your car I agree but it also should be a law against non-proper healthy living on a chain outside or in cage's inside a hot trailer or cold all day and night. Don't just care about cars.
Fox can carry rabies. If they approach you, call animal control. I also have a mother fox and 2 kits (pups). I am cautious and watchful when my dog is outside.
It is a wild animal be cautions around it and always watch your children when outside
