Seventeen, with your parent or guardian endorsement, unless you will be an emancipated minor at that time. You may do it on your own if so. You may also enlist on your own at age 18. My strong advice to you is to register for the draft at age 17 also.
If you are 13 years old and want to sample military life please consider joining the U.S. Navy Sea Cadet Corps or the Young Marines. Among the many benefits to joining either of the 2 mentioned organization is entering at an advanced pay grade.
At your age join JROTC or the Marine alternative (didn't have that when I was in school) benefit is it will boast your range when you first join only need to do it for 2 years to qualify. You can walk into any recruiting station to ask all the questions you'd like doesn't matter how long you are. My mother walked in at 10 and tried to join up lol
