No not really. There really isn't any beach area to play on that isn't boat access only.
There's the day use area at the narrows boat ramp with picnic tables BBQ
I would be very careful with young children. No shallow water in day use area by the dam. When it is not busy they do have some lifejackets available to use. No lifeguards and spotty cell service.
They rent kayaks and other boats, if you want to have a boat to adventure with the kiddos...
