No, the Amish do not want pictures taken at their farms. This is the Swartzentruber order of Amish. They are the "Old Order". Here the Amish children ( boys& girls) go to school 1st thru 8th grade. They do use dentist and doctors. It is respectful of their religion not to make pictures.
If you drive yourself through the area there is no law prohibiting the taking of photos, but it truly frightens and distresses this group of Amish. Out of respect for their beliefs, no photos should be taken. It is also worth noting that this group of Amish is not like the group that is more well known (Pennsylvania, for example.) This group does not educate girls or women past the sixth grade, doesn't give children dental care, and uses pesticides on their farms. Additionally, they do not allow a rumspringer. If a child ever wants to leave, they are forever banned and ostracized.
