It means that in a while you will be back getting the tooth fixed again. I had the same problem but they explained it. Got it filled and ended up with a root canal shortly after.

I'm sorry ed that you may be confused by our answer. Sometimes the tooth is too broken or cavity too large to do just a filling. In those cases we reccomend a crown because from our experience a filling will not last and can easily fall out or cause pain as there is very little tooth left to hold a filling. Having reviewed your radiograph it is in your best interest to get a crown and most likely a root canal as well. Please call us if you have any further questions.
