I am disabled and can't work and they denied me health insurance (all I applied for). I do have Medicare tho as I'm on social security disability, so I only wanted Medicaid as a supplement to help pay what Medicare doesn't. It never hurts to apply tho. Fill out the application, go thru the process. You may just be eligible. Hope this was helpful!

There's a program called M.A.W.D (medical assistance for workers with disabilities). It has a higher income limit. You will pay a premium (much less than what you would pay through the FFM) and you must have your disability verified by a medical professional if you don't receive SSD. Apply the same way you would apply for medical assistance. Be sure to indicate you have special medical needs (including behavioral health or drug and alcohol).
