To own a firearm you first need to apply to your local Police Department for a Firearm Identification Card (FID). They will explain the process in greater detail. I'm not sure about classes but I believe Shore Shot does give them periodically much like most other pistol/rifle ranges.
Go to your township PD for paper work I will take it you a firearm permit that would be first
