Each case is different.. sprains are treated (x-rays available if needed) and referred to a Specialist if necessary. Most fractures are treatable as well though will likely require a follow up referral to a specialist (i.e. orthopedist). It's not often that fractures are referred to the ER right away but does happen, depends on the severity and other factors in each case.
They treat sprains. Anything more serious, they will refer you to ER.
