I think youd better call for a reservation for a lake view or your time will not be this idealistic- we were in a dark corner without these niceties and it felt like any old restaurant anywhere. Wish we had called ahead

Older setting building, beautiful old molding and fireplace, your sitting looking out at the Lake, with linen table clothes, glass of wine, perfect! !!
All the prior commitments and you can have a conversation with your party without being overrun with the background noise
The ambiance... dimly lit, great view, great staff, food
The whole setting. Lighting, staff, decor, the lake. Other places are too commercialized. This place doesn't have awful music blasting & other people eating so close to you. It's just cozy.
The decor, lighting and setting (by the lake) puts you in a romantic mood. The staff is extra attentive and responsive. The food is elaborate. If you take her there, she will feel special.
Compared to many other restaurants, the dining room is fancier than most (though a little too antique for me) and the wait staff seem to be a little more sophisticated. Some might consider the food to be better as well.
The food and atmosphere are wonderful; old architecture with a lot of wood and history throughout.
