I had some delicious red bean paste buns and "a" scallion pancake at your place on Thursday night, The scallion cake was TINY and I was shocked that is was $5.50: Too much $$$.

Best China town (In my opinion) was Queens, NYC! Better prices, more authentic! We only had a snack at here, because we wanted to visit many places. This is more for tourist, but it is also the oldest family owned restaurant in China town Manhattan!

This place is fun for tourists and locals who enjoy being touristy. If you can get food in Manhattan for $5.50 you're doing well; sandwiches cost $10. If you're looking to avoid small portions of food with high price tags, NYC in general is a minefield. Good luck!

I've eaten at Nom Wah several times. The scallion cakes (or spring onion dumplings, as we call them in England, because we speak English and not American!), when I tried them 5 years ago, were both very tasry and substantially bigger than we get in England. I know prices will have risen since 2013, but $5.50 still sounds quite good value for a portion of scallion cakes.

I agree. I've eaten at two of the old time dim sum places in Chinatown and they are not very good. Nothing inventive, nothing surprising. Just for tourists. Got to go to brooklyn or flushing these days.
