I've been told that the Washington Monument is closed. I'm visiting DC for the first and only time the week of March 5th, 2018. Will it be open?

Sadly, no. But you can get a good view from the National Mall. It will reopen in 2019.

Unfortunately, due to ongoing work to the elevator system, it is closed until spring of 2019. It is still amazing to see from the bottom.
