Yes
I take my Chihuahua to the swamp but never off the leash and never on ground near water. Gators are quick and deadly at waters edge and even on leash, a second of your attention taken from your pet is enough for them to act on their" prey". My husband tells this story of the swamp, a native to this area, he was watching some tourists with their leashed pet, walking near the water. When one spotted what they thought was a Gator statue up on the bank , strolling up to see it and take a few pics, the LIVE gator patiently waited until the dog got close enough to strike. Now, not only was her pet gone but the leash between them had her partially tethered rethought the gator too. Luckily, another local, spotting the lady still pulling on the leash, pulled his pocketknife, cut the line and pulled her to safety. Enjoy your trip but be aware of your animals and children.
Yes you can take a dog just can't take them in boats and they do have to be on a leash at all times
When we camped at the Okefenokee, we took our Yorkshire Terrier with us. We just had to keep her on a leash at all times, and we did not take her with us when we took the boat back into the swamp.
Maybe at the entrance but do not take them inside near the water they will become a meal for a gator
