When are you guys going to take away this whole pass mess and just make the museum accessible to all at all times ? Every time I try to get it pass it’s taken and that’s not fair ! The other museums do not do this

Due to the unprecedented interest, a timed pass system is available to serve as many visitors as possible. Join us for Walk- Up Wednesday. Every Wednesday in May our visitors are welcomed to explore without a pass.

The other museums don't have near the foot traffic as this one does.

FYI: passes are not needed on Wednesdays in May 2018

Of all the museums and galleries on the Mall, there is a high demand for access into this museum in particular. Even after provision of passes the building is quite crowded the whole day as the galleries are small and passage ways are narrow on some floors. Due to the high influx of visitors, especially during the time from spring to autumn/tourist season, it is necessary to keep passes to regulate the crowd. You can try booking a few weeks in advance. It usually works.
