The 4 yr old may be too young, but it'll be a great learning experience for the 10 year old. Especially since the museum covers a lot of material not covered in most schools.
Yes. The museum covers African history, pop culture, athletes, home life etc. There is an exhibit or two that notes "adult themes" but they are few and far between. Your family will enjoy it.
Yes we welcome families and children of all ages.
Many Many young children attend and Should. Especially 10 and up!!! It should be a pre requisite/ required learning since the text books are All lies distortions and Minus people of color / African Heritage true information not taught in schools... 10 PLUS you can explain all the information presented with them grasping and understanding. And retaining what they hear and see. This Museum the conversations and all other information we should provide continuously should give our young and All young and old a sense of Being and 💪 Strength......
I went with my son's middle school some of the kid's enjoyed it and others where just not into it. My son is all about history and loved it all some stuff you don't read or learn about in schools. Your 10 year old may enjoy it, your 4 year old may enjoy some stuff It's a lot of walking and very crowded bag check when you first enter. Definitely worth going.
It's good as long as you are able to explain to them about the exhibit
The museum has a learning section for young children elementary age, however the 4 year might be a little too young. It is a good learning experience for elementary age children.
In my opinion the museum is appropriate for all ages.
I went there almost every year for field trips during my elementary school years. I agree, a 4 year old might not find it appealing, but yhe 10 year old should have a great time.
I believe that it is appropriate. I noticed a sign saying images with a red border may be too graphic or violent for some people. If you go with the 4yo, you may want to avoid the slave ship walkthrough and Emmit Till Memorial. Both can be a bit much for sensitive people.
