The 1st wed of every month they release tickets on the website at 9am. You can get up to 6 tickets
I believe you still have to go to the website for all tickets
All of the above answers are accurate.
The website is the best way and get online early as possible.
We awake early on the day we wish to visit. Beginning around 6am, log on to the website, just like preboarding for Southwest airlines, except you have be prepared to check for availability in every time block for the number of people attending. You will receive a confirmation email. Then, you will print out a ticket or save a photo on your smartphone to present at the entrance. The hardest part is waking up early enough. The rest is easy.
I went online that morning so same day timed passes and registered for the time that was avail. They go quickly so try as early as 6:30am
Best way to get tickets is to check on the museums website. The timed passes should be reserved in advance. Other than that, there are days you can show up and wait in line to see if you can get in.
