They have a whole timed pass system explained at their website. But I found that I could walk in during the weekday. Mostly it's school groups during the weekday and not that crowded.
Online exactly at 630am to get tickets, no later or they will all be gone.
Go online at 6am
Go to there website or Google it and call
The website is your best bet. And you should do it as early as possible to guarantee you have them during your time in DC.
We obtained tickets by going online very early to request on a Saturday. The instructions on the web does say on a Wednesday as previously indicated. It was Memorial day weekend. I would call to be certain. It was a wonderful surprise to see lines and more lines of people but the staff process very quickly. Technically they are called passes. There's no waiting for veterans, like that . Enjoy!
If youre a veteran you dont have to reserve tickets. We were also told that you call at 6:30 AM to reserve them 😝
We went there really early one day during the week, and they allowed us to go in.
You can not reserve tickets. If you happen to be a active service member of the military or a veteran you and your family can enter for free. But be ready to provide evidence that you served. The public is recommended to be at the museum exactly at 6:30am the morning of your visit. I suggest that you check out the official website.
I think they become available the 1st Wednesday of the month. Go onto their website, follow the prompts for visiting the museum.
