Since I will be coming from Los Angeles I wanted to reserve tickets in advance. I will be there in August but as of June 28th the website will not allow me to reserve, how far in advance can you reserve.

You can buy tickets on your visiting day or you can walk in after 1.30pm

We reserved our tickets 2 months in advance. It's always jam packed here especially during warmer weather. Fyi... It's a huge museum so u might not view it all in 1 day.

It's better to go at 2pm, Monday through Friday, because it's open entry

We did not have reservations and only waited about 15 minutes to get into the exhibit.

Entrance is free to everyone. Unless you want to take a tour (even some of those are free) or watch a movie. But to go in and view the exhibits is free.
