I did hear that in January the process might change to sonething like free first-come entry during the week
I think because of the high demand the ticket system should be revamped I've been trying for weeks and its book well into the fall.
The current system is get free timed ticket through the website, or walk up at 1pm for entry, no ticket required for walk up. Walk up M - F only.

No.you go online and " secure" passes for a timed visit...
