Yes. Nurse,military, and police I believe teachers and firefighters,but u have to show id

Any military ID ... retired, dependent, or active... get in without a ticket and can take a guest. Open til close. There is a separate entrance on the Mall side.

If you go in after 1 pm during the peak season (which I think lasts till the end of September), a timed ticket is not required.

Veterans go as they please as long as they have an ID

You can get in free as long as you have the timed ticket. I don't think there are any specials for vets
