If a payroll check is mailed on August 17th what are some possible reasons for it not being received until August 28th? (it was not mailed from another state)

If you're talking about the post office on Ashton St. I don't know what goes on there. Mailed a small package in a shipping elevope to California, it arrived one year later.

Waiting for something from unemployment that was mailed on Monday May 24th. Here it is Saturday May 29th and still nothing what the hell is going on with this mail.
