The spark lab is great for kids over 6. Kids there can built several different arts and crafts projects at no cost. The room next to it is for toddlers with lots of toys and a little jungle gym to play in. Additionally the movie theater occasionally plays movies for kids such as Clifford and Mr Rodgers neighborhood. These all all free. The exhibits such as cars and life size trains are fun for kids, you kids should have a blast at this museum.

There is nothing interactive for young children. My five year old enjoyed the museums. Air and space has a lot going on.

Nothing there for less than 2-3 yrs.. But most exhibits can be exciting for older than that age group..

In the National Museum of American History there are two full rooms dedicated to young mind discovery. They are separated by age group. It's called "The Spark Lab" We did not go in them but from what I saw children can perform hands on experiments and even create "inventions" of their own. The age groups are 2-5 and 6-12. Looked like a lot of fun!!
