Hi Alexis, the National Museum of American History has more than 1.8 million objects of all kinds to preserve for the American people as an enduring record of their past. Several well known artifacts that we currently have on display include the flag that inspired the National Anthem, the hat Abraham Lincoln wore when he was assassinated at Ford's theater, the first teddy bear, Thomas Jefferson's writing desk, the First Ladies' gowns, and even Julia Child's kitchen. Also on October 19th, the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz will be put back on display. I hope this helps and we look forward to having you visit the National Museum of American History! Lincoln's tophat and other presidential artifacts, the flag that inspired the star spangled banner, various items from american culture like Muhammad Ali's boxing gloves or the original elmo puppet. The food section has the first ever margarita machine. Theres an entire section on invention with artifacts from Thomas Edison and Nikola Tesla. These are just a few of the hundreds of things the museum offers.
