Hi Alexis, the National Museum of American History has more than 1.8 million objects of all kinds to preserve for the American people as an enduring record of their past. Several well known artifacts that we currently have on display include the flag that inspired the National Anthem, the hat Abraham Lincoln wore when he was assassinated at Ford's theater, the first teddy bear, Thomas Jefferson's writing desk, the First Ladies' gowns, and even Julia Child's kitchen. Also on October 19th, the ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz will be put back on display. I hope this helps and we look forward to having you visit the National Museum of American History!
