The urge to use will only be helped while you are on suboxones for the vast majority of people. For this reason many people choose to stay on it weeks or months but then you will have suboxone withdrawal, but if you wean down properly it will be much more tolerable than regular opiate agonists. Buprenorphine (active ingredient in suboxone) is only a partial agonist so it doesn't fully activate opiate receptors
