Dept of health and service gives domestic violence grants to women on the run. I got one. They figure out what you need in cost, such as gas, plane ticket, bus ticket, food to get there, if you can't take any clothes or toiletries, they calculate it all in based on your situation. And they DON'T tell the other party. They give you a check and you must cash it. DON'T take it to the bank, because someone might be stupid enough to call the other party. Take it to Walmart to can it! Costs only a few bucks but keeps your privacy. Good luck to your friend. It gets better. I'm proof, I'm alive & feeling more alive than I ever have.
