No appointment is needed, but if you have the time to wait it helps. But if you go early in the morning like 7:30am and get in line, the first 15 people get to come in and get serviced. Otherwise you will be put on a wait list and they will call you when it's your turn. I showed up at 7:30 and was done by 9am.
No, you do not need appt. However, it helps. If you choose not to get an appointment, you will need to wait for your number to be called. The process for this looks different than it did in the past. At the moment, you are greeted at the door where you then give your contact information to the person helping. If you're hitting the DMV during a busy time of day, there could be a line. They put you into a system and text you your ticket number. You then go wait in your vehicle or elsewhere until you get a text message. The text message will let you know that it's time to head back to the DMV because you are soon to be next. The notification can vary as to which spot in line you are in. For example: 5th in line or 10th in line. Once you get back to the DMV you go in immediately and sit in a chair and wait for your number to be called. No need to wait in line again. I'm not sure how long they've had this process and how long they'll keep this process but it is the current process.
You don't need one just walk up get a number give a number then they message you when your 5th in line you walk in and generally only have tio wait 5-10 min
Making an online appointment is easy, and guarantees your spot. It also has the added benefit of only being there for a few minutes, freeing up your precious time.
No. But show up at opening or expect to wait a couple hours.
