My cat is all of a sudden scared to go on the floor in her favorite room in the whole house and my room is a little messy what is the problem?

Did you get some new items on the floor in there? My cat doesn't like to walk on uneven surfaces, so if I pick up the clothing and stuff of the floor she's okay again.
