As long as they are emptied, the lable with your personal information on it torn off, and bottle is cleaned out, you can throw them in your recycle bin, or in some communities they have a day when unused prescription drugs can be turned in to certain locations, usually a pharmacy for destruction. But empty bottles can go in to a recycling bin at your local environmental recycling facility.
