SSI is not state funds. It comes from general Federal tax revenues. If your check is lower than you expected, you should contact your local Social Security office. You would also have received a letter explaining how your check was calculated.

The max you can receive on SSI is $771 a month. They calculate it on how much you've paid in. They also deduct if you are working.
SSI is State funding it's not social security income it supplemental security income it's based on low tax funding for social security from your work history. It's only a portion of state tax $$
