does rodeo sell out on Saturday nights in August? long drive to arrive and be shut out at the window.

It did sell out on Sat August 6th 2022 but that was do to it being a PBR event. They actually had to turn people away. It was absolutely packed but what a great time. If you've never been you must go.

You can pre-purchase your tickets online. That way you are assured a ticket. There is usually a long line to get in so get there early for a good seat.
