I think it's probably because Xfinity is all over the place, and in some places they're the only option for internet. If you've noticed UTOPIA is becoming available for more and more cities. It might be a 'generation' thing too. Since older people still like to have their phone and TV channels. You can get that through a third party but UTOPIA doesn't have it bundled in like Xfinity/Comcast does. So I'm sure we'll see UTOPIA grow in popularity as time goes on. Long story short UTOPIA is HANDS DOWN better than Xfinity, no question. Faster speeds (more consistent speeds), cheaper prices, better customer service. Try UTOPIA, I bet you'll be happy with it.
UTOPIA Fiber is different than other internet providers. They are simply an infrastructure a city has to install. In order for them to expand your city must ask to join. If you want it you may need to go to your city council meetings and ask for it.
A big plus for UTOPIA is each connection is dedicated vs being on a shared loop like Xfinity so you don't see slow downs like Xfinity when the loop gets busy. The speed is very consistent and the price is way better than Xfinity.
Definitely better option than xfinity. Xfinity spent millions to keep utopia from becoming more like a public utilities company in many communities. They will continue to grow as more and more of the fiber network is built. More people bed to use this service so xfinity can't keep overcharging all of us.
