I have been using VCA since Denver. They are about normal price for us to pay, though they are on the expensive side. If you have an exotic pet (birds, rats, ferrets) you can pay a little more. They are a really awesome team though and in my case worth the money spent on them. I don't mind paying a little extra just to make sure my fur babies are happy and healthy.
They took my dog as an emergency and we're great, not cheap, but nothing that surprised me either. If you want inexpensive, try the chaos of The Spay and Neuter Clinic on NW Radial. Good docs and inexpensive, but might make VCA worth another few dollars.
It's more expensive than normal vets and they attempt to upsell products that aren't necessary. They do offer good service though.
If you get the care program it's not as bad. And they have half price shots going on now (Wednesday, Friday & Saturdays).
It's somewhat comparable to other vets
