What all do i need to take in with me to get a state id? Mine has expired. Can i take it and my ss card? Or do i need my ss card and my birth certificate?

If you have a passport that will cover. If not take your ss card and birth certificate. Also take a utility bill for proof of address.

Expired I.D. and ss card should be enough but birth certificate and a utility bill addressed to you makes it easier.
