What would an adoptee need to do to found out if one of his biological parents contacted the Village with information? My adopted son would like to know. He is presently out of the country but can email. Thank you, Sue Warner-Prouty

A highly abusive company. Horrible treatment of the patients! Our grandson use to attend. We pulled him out after just a couple weeks. He kept getting unexplained bruises everywhere. Then we found out what was really going on. He was getting slammed into the ground during restraints. Company denied everything. Claimed he got the bruises from falling on playground. Total rubbish! Blatantly untrue. We have witness statements and cellphone video as proof of what really happened. Company still trying to deny everything. Doesn’t want to face the liability. But they know down deep what really happened. Avoid this place altogether! It’s highly abusive and very un-therapeutic. And equally as corrupt. Enough said.

Don’t ever use this agency’s services, either for foster care & adoption services or pretty much anything else. The staff there are very impatient and intolerant with the clients, and also do not use therapeutic interactions with them either. Some are even downright abusive (i.e. using improper T.C.I. techniques, choking/slamming during restraints, kicking, slapping, etc.) toward the clients, and I’ve witnessed this egregious conduct on countless occasions! Hope this helps future or prospective clients to make an informed decision about whether or not they’d want to experience “care and treatment” here at this agency. You want my brutally honest advice, though? Just don’t, under any circumstances.

But actually yes, all of this is entirely 100% true and accurate. The Village definitely is not therapeutic for children. On countless occasions while working here, I'd witnessed several of the staff twisting clients' arms around during restraints, sitting on them to the point where they couldn't breathe, even going so far as grabbing them by the hair and then violently throwing them down to the ground in order to gain control of the situation. All of it was done just for the sake of engaging in power struggles, so that the staff could assert their dominance over some of these truly traumatized children. It was so incredibly sad and heartbreaking!! It was unbearable to have to witness. Even worse yet, when I'd promptly reported this egregious conduct to the administration here, they DENIED EVERYTHING!! To add further insult to injury, they then scapegoated me as a "snitch" (direct quote) for having reported this - WHICH WAS MY JOB, in accordance with state mandated reporting laws.
