Do I need appointment to renew my ID?

I did call to make sure and I got a wait a whole hour for a return phone call this is crazy because it’s an emergency they didn’t send me anything to renew my drivers license and then come to find out they were suspended so I said OK let me just get an ID they let me get an ID and never sent me anything in the mail even though I did a dress change that I need to renew my ID What am I supposed to do in the meantime
