The restaurant has been closed for renovations but they are set to open Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at 11:00 am. To my knowledge, the restaurant has been apart of the community since the 50's. It originally started out as a small drive-in type establishment and you placed orders at the window and a car hop would take it to your car. The owner's late mother actually started running the establishment in the late 70's and then her and her husband bought it in 1981. She ran it with the help of her husband until 1993. After her passing he continued to run it until around 2003 with the help of his children and some amazing staff. Around 2003 is when he started leasing the building out and the restaurant was being managed by another individual. The owners son is the one who has been making the renovations and is reopening it and dedicating it to his Mother!
I am no longer a resident of Waynesboro. The building has been a restaurant for many years, in excess of 20 years The current owner / operator of the restaurant is the more amenable question. I believe that answer is in excess of 8 years, not sure about but think it's close. But who really cares, it's a darn good place to eat supper.
