In this price range, you could even purchase a car for that amount. I recommend looking into a Kia Soul. They get excellent gas mileage, plenty of space for 2 car seats in the back, tons of legroom, a unique storage compartment in the cargo bay, and have fantastic safety and reliability ratings.
