Carmax puts the sleazy in car dealerships. Offers one price and then comes up with reasons to devalue the offer by 25-30%. After the appraiser came up with the greatly reduced value, he would not discuss with us directly the logic of the appraisal. I had two different employees come tell me what he said, one of them admitted she didn't know what she was talking about but was just using his words and the other was Richard, one of the sales managers. A business like this that uses these types of tactics and hopes that people's laziness will accept whatever price they devalue it to is a deceptive business practice. They lure people to the business by offering a fair price on the vehicle and then use these lowball bait and switch tactics preying on people's circumstances. I had hoped for better from such a large business. I'll be letting all of our friends and neighbors in the area know that CarMax is not a reputable business. Beware!

We had time to browse the car lot before a salesperson was assigned to us. We were allowed to take the car off of the lot alone. No pressure to buy and 30 returns!!
