Pretty good policy once i got checked and they discovered i was over charged, worked in my favor
Part of their security policy
It doesn't matter if they ask to see your receipt or even if the alarm starts going off. What you have in your bag is now your property, if you don't feel like stopping that 100% your choice. Even if asset protection comes out and tries to stop you and you know that you didn't take anything, then if they try to put their hands on you to keep you from leaving then you can make up your mind as to whether you would like to file a lawsuit against them or not. Heck even if you did happen to snatch something, they can't just stop you and search you until they find something, they have to know exactly where on your person the item is.
You are totally allowed to say no and walk away, no repercussions. It's a tactic to try and catch shoplifters.
That walmart picks and choices who they stop. I see people all the time walking pass and they never ask for a receipt when they have someone standing there which is not all the time. The store is just joke.
Welcome to Walmart, where things are done differently. They're supposed to check the receipt against the items of course...
Probably part of their security policies.
