How do I reach someone to schedule an appointment to bring my 95 year old mother to the Monroe DMV to get an I.D. card?

I would say that an appointment would be a really good idea for your mother, so I don't blame you for asking. You have to call the DMV office directly and speak to someone to schedule an appointment. From what I understand, appointments get taken pretty quickly, so I would suggest calling as soon as possible... It will be a matter of what dates and times are available, so you'll have to take what they have. Explain your mother's age... Worst case, they might suggest you come when you can and let them know you're there so they can bring you to the front of the line. Hope this helps! Dr. Chandler, I saw your follow-up question about the number. I don't know, but I went online a couple of months ago to do that very thing at another location and found the phone numbers on the NC DMV website. But... While in Monroe, I saw the appointment book on the front desk, and I also saw them usher an older woman in a wheelchair that did NOT have an appointment up to the front of the line. Good luck!

Fridays are very busy. You must line up outside to go in. I think Tuesdays and Wednesdays are better. Take a chair with you in case they don't let the old lady to go in immediately as a courtesy.

Do you know what phone number to use? That would be very helpful! Thanks!

Just walk in, no appointment necessary.
