I just purchased a TYM T554 My dealer said they would fill the tires with Beet Juice, but used tap water instead. Will this water cause my wheels to rust? Is this a recommended practice for TYM?

TYM does not endorse or give a recommendation for any method of internal ballasting for tires (water, beet juice, antifreeze, etc.). The tires are warrantied through the tire manufacturer, so their recommendations and warranty restrictions would apply. In general, the safest (albeit usually most expensive) method of ballasting is wheel weights, since they attach at the wheel center which eliminates jerking. Liquid ballast can cause the tractor to jerk since the liquid will slosh around inside the tire. As was mentioned, the main issue with water is freezing. Depending on the purity of the water (and the specific impurities, such as salt content), there could be effects on both the rim and the tire over time.

Should not rust the rim but if he did not use antifreeze it may freeze Calcium Nitrate will rust the rims I would not trust this dealer
