They will return tomorrow. You can leave a signed note and I believe they will leave it, or go to their location and pick it up tonight.
If no signature is required you can call and give them the OK to leave it if you're in a safe neighborhood.
I doubt they will come back today, but you can call FedEx customer service, provide them the tracking information of your package and either schedule another delivery or ask them to hold it at the location for pick up.
