I've never heard of something so disgusting from any hospital.

Thanks Gail for your response. If my husband hadn't decided to stop by the bank for spending money before we left home, we would have been screwed..Thank you

Not sure... But after my Dads heart scare years back, he said he had to pay part of his bill beforehand. .. Not sure if before surgery or afterwards but Im thinking it WAS BEFORE he had his surgery!!!! Sheesh!!!

I had to pay also before my surgery.... I asked about payment plans and they told me they would accept half at that time and half the day of surgery (which was in 3 days). That's the only payment plan they have...I'm lucky enough to have been able to afford it or else I would have to just live in pain and suffer. I've been to St Vincent's (Middleburg hospital) a few times and never had to prepay. They would bill my insurance company then send me a bill of what's left. A few times those bills were pretty high but they worked with payment plans. I don't think it's fair that OP makes people pay first.... I don't pay my mechanic to fix my car before I give him the car!
