Well they have a certain radius of zip codes they can take. They're not allowed to take anyone outside of the radius.
I had to drive 1 hour and 45min to the orlando location because of my zip that was the closest location other then lakeland, i feel your pain

Not sure. Is there an office near you that takes blood/plasma donations? If thete is a new office there they could be directing traffic there,which they should have said so. I would ask to speak to person in charge. Best of luck.
