He needs to get guard card if he wants to be an armed guard he would have to get a pistol permit then he can take the 47 hour armed guard course about 600 dollars plus gun ammo duty belt

I believe you have to have a NY Guard Card and NY Pistol Permit but it wouldn't hurt to call and ask.
