I have a heeler, for the first year it was lots of training and lots of corrections. You must never show excitement if you don't want excitement. Raise your voice slightly in disapproval only at them. They will get it, but unless you keep them caged, they'll be puppies all the way. Which mean chewing. Expect some things will be ruined, it comes with the territory. Move on, eventually it gets better. If you raise your voice to much they will only cower and not listen. Be firm, and use I stern voice in corrections. Praise in sweeter higher voice, with touching. Never touch your dog when disciplining, they associate it with affection.
I assume you meant neutering? Keep the appts. If she's pregnant, they'll give her an abortion. Separate them for a few weeks afterward.
