My drivers license will expire the day before I am flying (American Airlines).
I have my temporary paper license that I am supposed to keep until my new license comes in. Will I have any issues with the paper license?

Take some other id .. even if Ohio accepts the paper other states might not.

Oh no! I strongly recommend you call since not many people run into this issue. If you have a passport, it would surely help for ID though to take that.
