If it's too bad then flight will be delayed and mostly you can stay at airport and they will send you in next flight. And airlines usually give vouchers for flights delayed.
If it's Frontier or Allegient you may be out of luck. With the major carriers like Delta, they will try and rebook you on A later flight. That later flight may be the next day.
Really depends what the airline says/does and whether you are willing to stay at the airport
U can stay in the airport or sometimes the airlines will get you a voucher depending on the weather and what's available at that time
